Submissions for Polarlit Vol. 3 are open. The deadline is Feb. 28, 2026. 

What we’re looking for:

Fiction, poetry, essays and visual art with a connection to the polar regions. (How you interpret that connection is up to you.) Submissions can be in any language. English translations or summaries are gratefully welcomed, but not required. 1,800 word limit.

Who can submit:

We were founded as a local magazine serving the residents of Longyearbyen, and our mission is still primarily to present the creative voice of this community. However, we also welcome submissions from residents of other polar regions, as well as Svalbard visitors.

What you’ll receive:

All published writers and artists receive a free copy of the magazine.
