fat fox i Foxdalen
fanga minst førti, femti flokker fugl
frista ikke med tørrfisk i fella da, nei
fox faller ikke for fangstmannsfanteri

Trapper’s Blues
Fat fox in Fox Valley,
snatched some forty, fifty flocks of fowl
Didn't fall for the trap’s dried fish, oh no
fox no fool for a trapper’s tricks

This poem was found scratched into the frame of an empty wooden fox trap that appeared to date to the 1920s.
